[14/10/2019] - International EUREKA Innovation Exhibition (iEIE2019)

For the sixth time Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) organized an innovation competition; International EUREKA Innovation Exhibition 2019 (i-EIE 2019). This year i-EIE 2019 theme is “IR4.0 IN BENEFITING MODERN SOCIETY”. This competition was held from 7th – 9th October 2019. UniKL MSI is a registered member of the International Federation Inventor Association, Geneva Switzerland since 2017. Therefore i-EIE2019 is internationally recognised by the association.

[2/10/2019] - PECIPTA 2019 - 2 Gold Medals for UniKL!

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) once again was in the limelight when it grabbed two gold medals, eight silver and one bronze at the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA) recently.

The medals were won through eleven researches contested at the exhibition, which was held at the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn, Batu Pahat, Johor on 22-23 September 2019.

Two gold medals were contributed through the research entitled, Lean-adopted Specimen Labelling System headed by Dr. Abdul Hadi bin Mohamad of UniKL MIIT and IR4SCHOOL : Smart Classroom Monitoring System headed by Dr. Muhamad Husaini Bin Abu Bakar from UniKL MSI. 

The project Lean-adopted Specimen Labelling System which currently used in Hospital Kuala Lumpur  is useful for healthcare institutions to optimise patient specimens handling process including labelling, status updating and reporting. The advancement helps public hospital specifically in overcoming issues such as potential transcription errors, long clinical time, and huge operational costs. 

The other winning project – IR4SCHOOL : Smart Classroom Monitoring System is useful at monitoring not only students’ attendance but it is also able to monitor student’s emotion in real time. 

PECIPTA is a biannual program organised by the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysia together with its partner institutions since 2001. PECIPTA aims to showcase innovative products and services from institutions of higher learning (IHL).

[29/9/2019] - UniKL celebrates silver medal in Putra Brand Awards

Universiti Kuala Lumpur maintained its status at the ‘People’s Choice’ university by snapping the silver medal for the consecutive year in the Education and Learning category in the 10th Putra Brand Awards 2019 at the Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on September 27.

This is the third time Universiti Kuala Lumpur stepped on the podium to receive the prestigious Putra Brand Awards. In 2016 UniKL won the bronze and received a shiny new upgrade to silver in 2018.

The accolade was received by UniKL President and Chief Executive Officer Prof Dato’ Dr Mazliham Mohd Su’ud.

“These awards signify UniKL’s commitment towards our brand and academic excellence in providing high quality education as a technical entrepreneurial university since UniKL’s establishment 17 years ago,” said Prof Dato’ Dr Mazliham.

The Putra Brand Awards recognises Malaysia’s most preferred brands based on public interviews, involving over 8,000 respondents this year.

Organised by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia, it is the only brand awards in the country endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation.

[10/5/2019] - UniKL Sweep 11 Gold Medals in ITEX 2019 Exhibition

Kuala Lumpur (4 May, 2019): It was a day to remember as Universiti Kuala Lumpur created ripples by bagging 11 gold medals in the Invention, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) 2019 which was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) on 2-4 May, 2019.

A total 16 projects were submitted by UniKL in the exhibition and of which 11 projects won gold medals whilst four received silver medals and one contented with a bronze. This is the second time UniKL scored high grades in an ITEX exhibition with 68.75 percent success rate – 11 out of 16 projects won gold medals. In 2017 and 2018 ITEX exhibitions, UniKL posted a 100 percent success rate by claiming medals in every of the 16 products. Dr. Norhisham Seyajah of UniKL Malaysia Italy Design Institute (MIDI) won gold medals in two different projects namely Stool and Ergonomic Mobile Seat Design for Pregnant Women, respectively.
