History

Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) is a leading university in engineering technology established on 20 August 2002.

Wholly owned by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), the university is given the mandate to upgrade the status of technical education in Malaysia by the government.

As the nation expects more from a technical higher learning institutions, UniKL mould its graduate with strong technological knowledge and astute entrepreneurial skills who would later fulfill the current demand of the industries. UniKL’s 13 branch institutes offer various foundation, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. With the concept of ‘One Institute, One Specialisation’, UniKL contributes not only to tertiary education but also researches and development for commercialisation purposes.

Strategically located all over peninsular Malaysia, UniKL’s branch institutes offer various programmes in theirs niche areas of specialisation. At present, UniKL boasts a total of 22,372 students.

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI)

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) was established in response to the demand of the mechanical, manufacturing and mechatronics industry and it encompasses the advanced technology in automotive engineering. With strong collaboration between the Malaysia and Spanish government, UniKL MSI offers unique, well-designed Spanish technology programs that integrate theoretical training and practical applications. Students are also exposed to technopreneurship, and enriched with soft skills such as leadership, communication, ethics and professionalism, creating holistic and well-rounded individuals who are high in-demand by today’s industries.
