Bangi, 20 August 2015 – Tengku Abdullah Hockey Stadium will be the new home for UniKL's hockey team. With the cost of RM 7.5 million, the stadium will be able to occupy 800 fans once completed. 
 
His Royal Highness Crown Prince Pahang Tengku Abdullah Al-Haj ibni Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, Tuanku Chancellor of UniKL in his royal address expressed his hope for UniKL to be at the forefront of producing present and future national hockey players and thinking athletes. "I am truly proud of UniKL for being able to take up my challenge to have its own hockey stadium and this signifies its high commitment towards sports development in Malaysia", added Tuanku Chancellor.
 
The construction of Tengku Abdullah Hockey Stadium is expected to be completed in 2016 and will continue to play an important role not only to UniKL's hockey team, but also to the local community where local hockey championships, trainings and coaching clinics can be carried out. 
 
 "When Tuanku Chancellor suggested UniKL to build its own hockey stadium, we believe that it comes with an opportunity for UniKL to play more significant role. "Our aim is not only to produce quality graduates with sound technical knowledge, we also want to produce talents in other fields like sports with hockey in particular. It is our aim to produce Malaysians who will continue to contribute to the nation positively in all areas," said UniKL Chairman and Pro Chancellor, YB Datuk Dr Adham Baba. 
 
Also present at the groundbreaking ceremony at Tengku Abdullah Hockey Stadium were UniKL Hockey Team officials and players for both Junior and Premier League.
