KUALA LUMPUR, 11 August 2016 – Universiti Kuala Lumpur today made a pledge to Corporate Integrity in a ceremony held at UniKL City Campus and broadcasted live to all its 11 campuses around Malaysia. This is a continuation from the pledge made by MARA

to strengthen corporate governance, accountability and transparency among all its subsidiaries.

All staff of UniKL made their pledge was witnessed by Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, YB Datuk Haji Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, the honourary guest of the ceremony.

The Corporate Integrity Pledge ceremony reiterates UniKL's strong stand on good governance and zero tolerance policy towards corruption. This is particularly significant as UniKL looks to build a high-performance, efficient organisation as it moves towards becoming one of the top universities in Asia though its WE4ASIA initiative.

The Pronouncement of the Corporate Integrity Pledge was lead by Mr Norulamin Ahmad, Assistant General Manager, Internal Audit Department.

 

Datuk Ahmad Jazlan in his address said, "Ethics and integrity must be ingrained in each and every employee of UniKL in carrying out our duties and responsibility. Unethical and dishonest practices, if left unchecked, are able to corrode the stakeholders' and publics' confidence, and this has the potential to ruin even the sturdiest corporate entity. My hope is for all UniKL employees to continue carrying out your responsibilities with high integrity as you chart greater things for the development of our nation."

The Corporate Integrity Pledge was presented by YB Datuk Ahmad Jazlan to all deans of campuses, seen here with Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Kamal Abdul Rahman, Dean of UniKL Business School. On stage together was President and CEO of UniKL, Prof. Dato' Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su'ud and Datuk Salmah Hayati Ghazali, Deputy Director (Entrepreneurship) MARA.

 

The Corporate Integrity Pledge was signed by the General Manager of People Management and Team Culture Division and Deans of all 14 UniKL campuses and institutes the signed pledge will be displayed at each campuses as constant reminder to all employees to uphold the integrity and ethical standards set by UniKL when carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
