KUALA LUMPUR, 20 February 2016 - Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) won 3 silver and 2 bronze medals from its Six projects

contested at the Malaysian Technology Expo 2016 (MTE 2016), which was held at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC), Kuala Lumpur from 18-20 February 2016. Innovations from UniKL were showcased at the MARA Tex Pavilion together with 23 other projects from various MARA educational institutes in the three-day expo.

A project led by Mr. Ahmad Husaini from UniKL Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI) entitled "High Precision Hydraulic Positioning System Using Green Fluid Technology" bagged a Silver Medal. This project was aimed at designing and developing an electrohydraulic linear actuators using novel magnetic fluid valve. The magnetic fluid was produced from palm oil which is organic and biodegradable.

UniKL Malaysian Institute of Marine Engineering Technology (UniKL MIMET) produced another silver medal winning invention entitled "Development Of Remotely Operated Vehicle (Rov) Crawler For Seabed Discovery"  led by Mr. Ahmad Makarimi. The unmanned machine or also known as Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) comprised of an underwater vehicle being connected to the control unit on the surface, operated by a group of cables that carry electricity, video and data signals back and forth between the operator and the vehicle. The operations unit consist of a handling system to control the cables' dynamics, a launch system and all associated power supplies. This ROV crawler can be used to explore the seabed for underwater discovery as well as inspection, research and even rescue mission.
