Financial Aid

Want to enrol in UniKL but face financial problems? UniKL will do its best in assisting students to obtain financial aids for their studies. UniKL has a dedicated department called the Financial Aid Department which helps in applications and processing for study loans from the various financial bodies. Students can request for details and forms from the department. The financial bodies that provide aid are PTPTN and MARA. Nothing can stop you to continue pursuing your education.

MARA Loan

MARA loans is a loan for Malaysian students that want to pursue their studies in Mara Institution of Learning (IPMa) and private institutions. It is under Special SPiP Open Loan or domestic purposes in accordance with the People Trust Fund Act 1966.

Eligibility :
  • Malays / Malaysian citizen
  • Minimum of 5 credits from the SPM results
  • Full-time study 
  • Never termination of assistance or withdrawal of assistance by any sponsor for reasons of disciplinary action
  • Get a waiver of contract / repayment if it has been sponsored by another body for previous studies
  • Annual income of RM50,000 or less: Student is qualified to receive both Tuition Fees Loan and Monthly Allowance
  • Annual income between RM50,001 and RM80,000: Student will be qualified to receive only Tuition Fees Loan
  • Annual income of RM80,001 and above: Student is not qualified for this loan
  • Must have a non-paid study leave / release of office / written permission from employer for those who are serving

PTPTN Loan

The PTPTN loan (National Educational Loan) is offered to Malaysian diploma and degree holders.

Eligibility:
  • Malaysian citizens only
  • Not exceeding 45 years of age on date of application
  • Been offered a place at any IPTA/IPTS or Polytechnic by fulfilling entry requirements determined by Ministry of Higher Education and Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA)
  • For IPTA/IPTA and Polytechnic students, the applicable courses must obtain the approval from the Ministry of Higher Education and registered with PTPTN
  • For IPTS students, the applicable courses must obtain the Accreditation Certificate from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and still be valid on the date of application
  • The remaining period of study upon application should not be less than (1) one year
  • Have no other sponsor
  • Posses an SSPN-i account
